in summary
Stephen McKinnis is an actor with roots in El Paso, Texas. He grew up an avid horseman and got his very first taste of the stage playing a bear in his Kindergarten Circus. He’s been performing ever since, and also started studying piano at just five years old.
Over the years, Stephen has brought countless characters to life in productions ranging from Shakespeare’s King Lear and Romeo & Juliet to Death of a Salesman, A Long Way Home, The Jewish Wife, and Ordinary People. Back in his Hastings High School days, he lettered in Theatre and was an active member of the Thespian Society.
Outside the stage lights, Stephen worked as a reporter and news anchor for Response News and ABC-KHGI TV Channel 13 after earning his Communications degree from Hastings College. While in graduate school at San Diego State University, he kept his musical skills sharp, playing piano and organ for weddings, private events, and showcases. He’s also trained at the Brian Reise Acting Studio in Los Angeles.
